Thanksgiving Weekend

Cabarrus Pets Society will be open by appointment only on November 29th.  If you are interested in adopting please let us know and we will make arrangements to meet you.

Our Mission

The Cabarrus Pets Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose purpose is to make our community a better place by rescuing dogs.  We vaccinate, spay or neuter, restore them to health, and find them loving, deserving, permanent homes.

Our Mission is to prevent unwanted pets by educating the public about responsible pet ownership including the importance of spaying and neutering, vaccinating, and heartworm prevention.

Our organization is staffed by volunteers dedicated to our mission of rescue and educating the community through both action and example.

How do we work?

Cabarrus Pets Society is staffed by volunteers who have a passion for helping animals.  Each of our animals receives medical screening, temperament testing, vaccinations, and spay/neuter through our local veterinarians and our own medical staff at our Kannapolis location.  All of our animals live with foster families while we search for their perfect home with their forever families.  The foster families bring the animals to our Kannapolis location each Saturday for our Adopt-a-Pet event where people can come and meet them in person.

Interested in adopting?

We have many loving dogs that deserve their forever homes!  Please visit our "Adoptable Pets" area where you can view our current adoptable pets and learn about the adoption process.  Come meet us and our adoptable pets in person on Saturdays from 10AM to 1PM at 207 South Main Street Kannapolis, NC 28081.  We look forward to seeing you!

Trying to help a pet in need?

Our community foster program provides a way for good Samaritans who have found a pet, or pet owners who need to give up their pets to become "one time" foster parents.  If you have found a stray or have a family pet you need to find a new home for, you can be its foster parent with our help.  Please visit our "Community Foster" area to learn more.

Help Wanted

We have a tremendous need for more foster homes and would love your help. Without good, Volunteers Needed to Provide Foster Homes !!dependable foster homes, we are unable to rescue many dogs that are in need because we have no place for them. It breaks our hearts when we have to turn deserving animals away. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, click on the photo to visit our "Foster Home" page for more information. If foster parenting is not right for you, please visit our "I want to help" area where you can find many other ways you can help our mission.  We really hope to hear from you. Thank you!!
