How you can help CPS

If you have a special talent you think we could use, let us know and we'll be happy to help you find the best way to put your efforts to good use.  If you don't have time to help, but still want to support the efforts of CPS, check out the programs on our support page

Volunteer
- We can always use extra hands at our Saturday Adopt-A-Pet events. We also hold special events periodically throughout the year and extra volunteers are always appreciated. If you are interested in volunteering, please send us an email, or give us a call and let us know. We promise you will have a very rewarding experience!

Spread the Word - It sounds like such a small thing, but if you tell even just two people about CPS and they tell two other people and so on, word will spread like wildfire, and the more people who know about us, the more people and pets we can help! So, if you know of someone looking for a pet, tell them about us! Do you know of a business that would let you put a flier up about our available animals? Email us and we'd be happy to send you a flier you can print and hang up. Do you have a web site? Add a link to our site so more people can see our animals. If you'd like, we can provide the code for a "pet scroller" that you can put on your web page that shows all of our adopted animals. It's linked to petfinder, so it updates itself automatically when we add or remove our pets. Do you own or work at a pet-related business? We would be happy to give you some small fliers to hand out to interested clients who are looking to add to their furry family.

Spay and Neuter Your Pets - Adoptions are wonderful, but they are REACTIVE. Spaying and neutering your pet is PROACTIVE! Spaying and neutering is the only way to control pet overpopulation and reduce the number of unwanted animals in our community, many of which are euthanized.  If you have a pet, please have it spayed or neutered.  We have information on low-cost spay/neuter clinics in Charlotte and Concord.  Ask us for more information.

Foster a Dog or puppy - We don't have our own physical shelter, so all of our adoptable animals stay in foster homes until adopted.  We have to turn many animals away simply because we have no place for them to stay. Fostering parenting is one area where we always need help!  If you have the time and space to temporarily add another dog or puppy to your family, we'd love to hear from you!  Check out our foster page for more information.

Donations - Saving and restoring the animals to health takes a lot of money. Supplies and monetary donations are always greatly appreciated. Check out our wish list to see some of the things we could use.  We are a non-profit group, so all donations are tax-deductible. We accept donations by mail, in person at Adopt-a-Pet events, or via PayPal. ALL donations go straight to the care of our animals, whether through vaccines and vet care, food, or electricity to keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter at our adoption events. Check out our support page for information about our many fundraising programs.
