Girl Scouts Donate Goody Bags
Cabarrus Pets Society was honored to receive a visit last week from ladies of Girl Scout Troop 315 (Mt. Olive Church). Danielle Lantz (Cox Mill High School) and Haley Penk (North West High School) earned their Silver Award by sewing dog goody bags to give to adopters for their new furry family member. The donated bags include a collar, ball, toy, treats, an adoption certificate, and an information sheet about the girls and their project. The girls held bake sales at PetCo and used some revenue from Girl Scout cookie sales for supplies. Seventy hours of service went into this project. CPS is grateful for the beautiful bags and the obvious love and thought which were placed into each. Thank you!!

~Nick with his new parents and sister, Heidi~
Nick got very lucky when this couple came to meet him last week. Although they really liked Nick, and Nick liked them, they did not adopt him that day. Unselfishly, this family wanted to think about things and decide if they could give Nick a home that would meet HIS needs. We all hoped that it would work out & are overjoyed that it has. Nick was adopted into his wonderful new family on August 7, 2010. It's obvious that Nick and his new dad are going to be best buddies. This family's story is a perfect example of the things to consider BEFORE adopting a new pet.
