To adopt Archie, you must Already own a confident dog

Introducing Archie, a cute guy who had it rough before he arrived at Cabarrus Pets Society. We don’t know the details of his previous life, but we do know that Archie came to us extremely fearful of people and suffering from anxiety. Over the last couple of months, Archie has made so much progress and we are so proud of him.

Because Archie needs to know that people will not hurt him, he will need to meet his potential pet parents’ multiple times for him to feel comfortable. Archie will be scared of you during these initial meetings, and he will bark at you. For many people this can be scary, but he just needs time to warm up to people. When he does get to know you, Archie will be like butter in your hands and will happily snuggle and give kisses.

Archie will need a dedicated family that is willing to continue working on his socialization and one that includes a confident doggie friend. Because of Archie’s separation anxiety, he shuts down when placed in a kennel/crate, so NO crates. We have started Archie on Prozac to relieve some of his anxiety too.

He is dog friendly and has done well with small, neutered males and large spayed females but doggie meetings must be supervised especially when meeting large dogs and non-neutered males. He currently lives with 2 large female spayed dogs and 2 cats.

We can’t stress enough that this baby is worth your love, but you must have patience.

To adopt Archie, you must

-Be Patient and Kind

-Already own a confident dog

-Have the time and desire to work with him

Please reach out if you truly want a love bug and can look past his fear. Remember humans did this to him.
