Who We Are
Cabarrus Pets Society was established in 2002 as a foster home based, 100% volunteer managed non-profit animal rescue with a mission to Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Rehome abused, neglected, and unwanted dogs and cats in the greater Cabarrus County area. We rescue animals from local shelters and from community members who can no longer care for their pets. Each animal is placed into a loving foster home where we provide all necessary medical treatments, spaying and neutering, vaccines and all basic care needs, and where our fosters work to restore their trust in humans.
Cabarrus Pets Society is dedicated to educating our community on responsible pet ownership including the importance of spaying and neutering, vaccinating and the prevention of heartworm disease.
Homeless but Continuing the Mission
We lost our physical location to the revitalization of downtown Kannapolis, but Cabarrus Pets Society lost EVERYTHING in the horrific fire in September 2021 that took the life of Judy Poler, our President, who ran through flames and smoke to rescue to her pets and foster animals. Our dedicated volunteers continue to help those in need in our community, but we desperately need a space.
Do you have a building or office space we can make our new home? Are you interested in helping us find a new home or making a donation towards our own RE-HOMING fund? Please contact us at 704.786.7729 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
